Chez Soleil Music Represented at Red Carpet Event

Chez Soleil Music founders Ben Beta and Khadijah Moon attended the Peace Ball last night, an event attended by many protesting the Trump presidency, featuring numerous luminaries including Angela Davis, Sonya Sanchez, Melissa Harris-Perry, Danny Glover, Alice Walker (by phone), Solange, Esperanza Spaulding, and more. The evening was beautiful and took place within the new Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture.

Prefacing the controversial inauguration of Donald Trump, the downtown Washington DC area where the event was held had numerous streets and locations blocked off from drivers. The event sponsor, Andy Shallal, owner of the Busboys and Poets restaurant chain, hired more than 20 buses to transport event-goers to and from the museum after receiving clearance from the government to travel down closed roads.

The evening included full access to the museum, stage performances, speaker addresses and a buffet of culinary delights including shrimp macaroni and cheese, falafel balls, spinach, tenderloin beef, stuffed chicken and fresh biscuits. At least three open bars posted on two floors of the museum kept guest glasses filled throughout the night.
